হাল্কা ঝুরো বরফ নিয়ে খেলতে চান? চান বরফের মধ্যে একটু খেলাধুলো করতে, যেমন basketball বা badminton?

নিশ্চই চাইবেন বরফের মধ্যে rubber bowl-এ একটু উঁচু থেকে slide করতে? অথবা বরফের দেওয়ালে দড়ি ধরে বেয়ে উঠতে?

হ্যাঁ, স্বপ্ন নয়, ঘোর বাস্তব, তাও বিদেশে নয়, খোদ আমাদের কলকাতাতেই। বিদেশের স্বাদ এবার নিজের শহরেই। যদি চান, তবে চলে আসুন কলকাতার একমাত্র Snow Park -এ। New Town Axis Mall-এর top floor-এ (6th floor) । প্রতিদিন খোলা, 11-8pm, তবে ticket last পাওয়া যাবে 7pm পর্যন্ত।

কয়েকটি প্রয়োজনীয় তথ্য:

কি কি করা যেতে পারে Snow Park-এ, তা তো আগেই বলেছি। Axis Mall, Newtown-এর একটা বড় landmark। এবার বলি কিভাবে যাবেন। নিজস্ব বাহন থাকলে তো কথাই নেই। আশে পাশে paid parking আছে। জায়গার অভাব নেই, তবে weekend-e একটু ভিড় হয় বিকেলের পর। আর, public conveyance-এ আসতে হলে - অনেকভাবেই আসা যায়:

1. Airport বা VIP Road Haldirams হয়ে বাঁ দিকে ঘুরে Chinarpark, বাঁ দিকেই CC 2 পার করে, Eco Park-কে ডানদিকে রেখে সোজা বিশ্ব বাংলা গেট থেকে ডানদিকে গিয়ে flyover-এ না উঠে, ঠিক তার আগেই Hotel Novotel-এ নামতে হবে। সামনেই Axis Mall - সাদা বড় বাড়ি। বাঁ দিকেই। বিশ্ব বাংলা গেট থেকে দ্বিতীয় stop। Airport/Haldirams থেকে প্রচুর বাস এই route-এ যায়। Airport থেকে আধ ঘন্টা মতো লাগে।
2. Chingrighata bypass বা Saltlake Karunamoyee থেকে Sector V হয়ে যে বাসগুলো Newtown বা Shapoorji যায় সোজা রাস্তায় - সবগুলোই Novotel যাবে। রাস্তার অপর পারে Axis Mall।
3. যাঁরা বাইরে থেকে উল্টোডাঙ্গা / শিয়ালদা / হাওড়া হয়ে আসবেন - তাঁরা ওইসব জায়গা থেকে বাগুইহাটি নেমে সামান্য এগিয়ে auto ধরে লোকনাথ মন্দির পার করে, Chinarpark এসে ওখান থেকে ফের বাস ধরে যেতে পারবেন। Auto দূরত্ব অল্পই। উল্টোডাঙ্গা থেকে Karunamoyee -র auto - ও আছে।

একটু বিশদে লিখলাম এইজন্যই যাতে যাতায়াত-টা অনেকটা নিশ্চিত হয় আর দূরত্ব বা সময়ের একটা হিসেব থাকলে অগ্রিম plan করতে সুবিধে হয়

Snow Park-এর নিয়ম কানুন:

ভেতরে থাকার সময় - ঠিক এক ঘন্টা, যখন থেকে ticket কাটবেন।

ভেতরে যাওয়ার মূল্য - জনপ্রতি Rs. 499/-। Cash/Card/Gpay - সবই চলে। এই মূল্যের মধ্যে ধরা আছে - প্রত্যেকের পড়ার জন্য টুপি সহ মোটা jacket, gloves, জুতো (gumboot)। নিজেরা আলাদা করে অল্প একটু sanitise করে নিতে পারলে ভালো। জুতো/চটি আলাদা করে জমা করার ব্যবস্থা আছে। Token সাথেই রাখা যায়।

মোজা অবশ্যই নিয়ে যাবেন, না হলে অতিরিক্ত মূল্যে ওদের থেকে কিনতে হবে। খালি পায়ে gumboot পড়ে অতক্ষণ থাকাটা কিন্তু খুবই কষ্টকর হবে। এক ঘন্টা পরে বেরোবার সময় gumboot-এর ভেতর মোজা শুদ্ধু পা প্রায় জমে যাওয়ার মতো হয়েছিল। মোজা তো একটু ভিজেও গিয়েছিল। ঠান্ডা লাগার ধাত থাকলে কানঢাকা পাতলা টুপি jacket-টুপির ভেতর পড়া যেতে পারে।

ওদের দেওয়া মোটা ঢিলে gloves পড়ে mobile/camera-য় ছবি তোলা যাবে না। ওই ঠান্ডায় বারবার খালি হাতে ছবি তোলা বেশ কষ্টকর। বরং skin tight পাতলা surgical type-এর disposable gloves প্রথমে পড়ে নিয়ে তারপর ওদের দেওয়া gloves পড়লে ছবি তোলার সময় একটু হলেও সুবিধে হবে। আর হ্যাঁ, mobile/camera allowed। আলাদা করে কোনো charge লাগে নি। Mobile camera ওই ঠান্ডায় যে ঠিকঠাক কাজ করেছে, সঙ্গের video আর ছবিগুলোই তার প্রমাণ।

শহর কলকাতায় বিরল অভিজ্ঞতা। ভেতরে ঢুকলে তো আনন্দই আনন্দ। ওহ! তবে ভেতরে কিছু জায়গায় জমাট শক্ত বরফ থাকার কারণে একটু পিচ্ছিল লাগতে পারে। একটু সাবধানতা কাম্য। মূল দরজা দিয়ে ঢুকে জমাট বরফে প্রথম পা রাখার সময় একটু খেয়াল করলে ভালো হয়। কোমর / হাঁটুতে সমস্যা থাকলে অতি উৎসাহে ওপর থেকে slide করাটা বুঝে করাই শ্রেয়। এটা বাচ্চাদের ক্ষেত্রেও প্রযোজ্য। যদিও বেশ ছোট বাচ্চাদেরও ওখানে দেখেছি। দিব্যি মজা করছে। খুব অসুবিধে হলে একটু আগে বেরিয়ে পড়লেই হলো।

ওই ঠান্ডাতেও ভেতরে guestদের assist করার জন্য একাধিক সহায়ক / সহায়িকা আছে। তাদেরকে অনেক ধন্যবাদ।

সাথে মূল্যবান জিনিসপত্র থাকলে ঢোকার আগে locker - এ রাখতে পারেন। Rs. 100/- লাগবে। ঘড়ি locker- এ রেখে যাওয়াই শ্রেয়। চাবি সাথেই রাখা যায় ভেতরে থাকার সময়। এখানে Token ফেরত দিলে টাকাও ফেরত।

ওখানে Washroom-এর ব্যবস্থাও আছে।

Axis Mall- এর 5th floor- এ খাওয়ার দু একটি restaurant আছে। নিচে / বাইরেও বেশ কটি joint আছে। ভালই। এখানে ইগলু, স্লিপিং, স্ট্যাচু অফ লিবার্টি এবং আইফেল টাওয়ারের Replica, পর্বতে আরোহণের জন্য দড়ি, বিভিন্ন আকারের বল, ফুটবল খেলা, ভলিবল এবং বাস্কেটবল, সেলফি পয়েন্ট ইত্যাদি , প্রতি 20 মিনিট পর পর ডিস্কো রয়েছে

Some essential information:

I've already said what can be done in Snow Park. Axis Mall is a major landmark in Newtown. Now let's tell you how to go. If you have your own vehicle, there is no point. There's paid parking around. There is no shortage of space, but weekend-e is a little crowded after the afternoon. And, to come to public conveyance - there are many ways to come about:

1. Airport or VIP Road haldirams turn to the left and cross Chinarpark, cross CC2 on the left side, leave Eco Park on the right side and go straight from the World Bangla Gate to the right and get into the flyover, just before that you have to get down at Hotel Novotel. In front of the Axis Mall - white big house. on the left. The second stop from the World Bangla Gate. A lot of buses from Airport/Haldirams goes this route. It takes about half an hour from the airport.
2. Buses that go straight to Newtown or Shapoorji via Sector V from Chingrighata Bypass or Saltlake Karunamoyee will all go to Novotel. Axis Mall on the other side of the road.
3. Those who will come from outside via Ultadanga / Sealdah / Howrah - they will be able to get down from those places and cross the Loknath temple by auto a little ahead, come to Chinarpark and take a bus again from there. Auto distance is small. There is also the auto of Karunamoyee from Ultadanga.

This is why I wrote in a little detail so that the travel is more certain and if there is a calculation of distance or time, it is convenient to plan in advance, as we did by clubbing a couple of other places.

Rules of Snow Park:

Time to stay inside - exactly one hour, from when you will deduct the ticket.

Entry Fee – Rs. 499/- per person. Cash/Card/Gpay - all work. Included in this price - thick jacket, gloves, shoes (gumboot) with hat for everyone. It is better if you can separate yourself and sanitize a little bit. There is a separate storage facility for shoes/panties. Token can be kept immediately.

You must take the socks with you, otherwise you will have to buy them from them at extra cost. But it will be very difficult to stay in gumboots with bare feet. An hour later the socked bare feet in the gumboots were almost freezing. The socks were a little wet. If you feel cold, a thin hat with earmuffs can be worn inside the jacket-hat.

It is not possible to take pictures with mobile/camera by wearing gloves on the thick rocks provided by them. It is very difficult to take pictures repeatedly with bare hands in that cold. Rather, skin tight thin surgical type disposable gloves are first read and then the gloves provided by them will be a little bit more convenient while taking pictures. And yes, mobile/camera allowed. There is no separate charge. The accompanying video and pictures are proof that the mobile camera worked well in that cold.

A rare experience in city Kolkata. When you enter, it's a joy. Oh! However, it may feel a little slippery due to the frozen solid ice in some places. A little caution is advised. It's best to be careful when entering through the main door and stepping onto frozen snow for the first time. If you have back/knee problems, it is better to understand that you slide from above too enthusiastically. This also applies to children. Although I saw quite a few children there. Divya is joking. If it is very difficult, you have to leave a little earlier.

Even in that cold, there are multiple assistants to assist the guests inside. Many thanks to them.

If you have valuables with you, you can keep them in the locker before entering. Rs 100/- will be required. It is better to leave the watch in the locker. Keys can be kept with you while inside. If you return the Token here, the money will also be returned.

There is also a washroom facility.

There are two restaurants on the 5th floor of Axis Mall. There are several joints below/outside. good There are Igloos, Sleeping, Replica of Statue of Liberty and Eiffel Tower, Ropes for mountain climbing, Balls of different sizes, Football games, Volleyball and Basketball, Selfie points etc., Disco every 20 minutes.
